description: Vacuum Conveyors transport loose material in a suction-air-stream. They consist of three components: Vacuum pump, separator container and filter. The vacuum pump creates a vacuum in the separator container and therefore surrounding air and the material to be conveyed is sucked through the suction inlet The "sucked" air passes through the filter system which is located in the separator container. The filter ensures that the material is retained in the body of the separator. When the vacuum pump switches off, the pressure in the separator container la balanced with atmospheric pressure. Therefore the sucked material falls under gravity, and la discharged directly through the bottom valve of the separator container into a receiver or the machine which has to be loaded. Application areas and advantages of Vacuum Conveying In general, Vacuum Conveyors are easily installed and suitable for almost any kind of bulk material including small places and viscous materials. Since the material to be conveyed is moved by a suction-air-stream, and no dangerous material is allowed to contaminate the environment, Vacuum Conveyors are safe, even if there are leaks in the suction tube. VOLKMANN Vacuum Conveyors are available with transporting capacities from 30 kg/hr. up to 8 tons/hr. Materials are conveyed up to 50 metres in horizontal distance and lifted up to 20 metres, dependent upon the application. Vacuum Conveyors can be mounted directly above the material's destination, e.g. above a silo, funnel, big-bag, mixer, screening device or the machine which has to be loaded. |
